Help Prevent the Dangerous Cell Tower on Starkey Ranch School Property

A large corporation called Vertex is trying to put a cell phone tower on Starkey Ranch elementary school property. RF radiation close to cell towers is associated with major health problems such as cancer, diabetes, sleep disorders, and many other issues.

Over 400 Starkey community members are pushing for the tower to be built somewhere other than on school property. Please join us in this fight and help ensure that our school remains a safe place for our children to learn and play.

Starkey residents came together at the latest school board meeting and many members gave speeches. Notice how the 3 members who voted yes completely disregard what was said. All we were asking for is a conversation so that board members and the community can work together to find a solution that is also safe for our children. Closing public comment and reading notes from before the meeting proves that they had decided beforehand what how they would vote. This is a complete disrespect to our community and a clear indication that they have been “bought off”. Megan Harding has made many statements that are straight out of the telecom playbook. Shame on her.

What you can do to help

Sign the petition

Over 1,000 community members have already signed the petition. The more signatures we get, the more exposure we get and the more people will become involved. Please sign to help us get the word out.

Join the Starkey facebook group opposing the tower

Over 400 Starkey members have joined the Facebook group dedicated to opposing the cell tower by the school. Join “Community Seeking Alternatives To Cell Tower at Starkey Ranch K-8” to get involved in the conversation, hear the latest news, and get notified of events.

Attend the next county meeting

One of the most important things we can do is to come together as a community. Showing up in numbers at the meetings will show the school board and county that we mean business. Please join us and wear a red shirt at the meetings to show your support. If you’d like to speak,  please prepare a 3 minute speech. You can view available topics and sign up for one here:

Get your friends and family involved

Please share what’s happening with your friends and family and get them involved. The more people we can get to take action the better.
